The artwork in this piece was inspired during one of my trips to see polar bears in Manitoba. This polar bear print shows one of my favorite moments watching these magnificent creatures.

The sub-Arctic hamlet of Churchill in Manitoba, is one of my favorite wildlife destinations. I've traveled twice to this area to see polar bears and beluga whales.

During my first trip there, we were lucky enough to see a polar bear go for a swim. As he played in the water, his huge feet would come up in and out of the water in a playful dance. It is this swim that inspired this painting. We managed to get a video of this polar bear playing in the water, and I'm so glad I can share it here for you to enjoy (it's the last of the images).
